Kia ora and welcome to Subtropicals Aotearoa. We are very happy to provide you with high quality subtropical plants.
Please read our terms of service carefully prior to making a purchase. They are subject to change without prior notice. We provide our services to you on condition of acceptance of these terms of service, and by using our website or making a purchase you automatically agree to these terms of service.
Currency and tax
All pricing on this website is in New Zealand dollars ($NZD) and includes Goods and Services Tax (GST).
The images in our website and online store for each product does not necessarily show the exact plant you will receive upon purchase. You will receive a plant which is of the same variety, type and approximate growth stage as the product photographed for the site. Photographs of fruit are obtained from a variety of sources, including our own fruit. Product images are usually taken inside, and that any plants you purchase may look different outside and/or under different lighting conditions.
When you order, please let us know a safe, sheltered, warm place to have your parcel delivered to because all parcels are sent on a non-signature courier service and will be left at your premises. Use the notes section at the checkout to make safe delivery easy on the courier as we will add this to the delivery label.
Shipping can be stressful on a plant. Minor damage is not usually cause for concern. Expect a small degree of transit stress or leaf damage from your plant's journey. The easier the plant is bruised or stressed, the easier it is to recover.
Due to the perishable nature of plants, if you do not have a suitable safe place for your plants to be left upon delivery, we cannot be held responsible for the condition of plants.
We are not responsible for additional time spent in transit or courier depots due to governmental actions or delays you make in collecting your undelivered plants from a courier depot so please be present for your delivery or be prompt with re-delivery. Stolen parcels from your property are not our responsibility so you must have a safe place for delivery.
We can't ship to a PO Box, so please identify a street delivery address, thanks.
Requesting a replacement or refund
We are committed to our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act, which outlines minimum standards for the products and services we provide. In the unlikely event that the products sold are faulty or damaged, you have a right to a replacement or refund within a set of reasonable circumstances, which are outlined below.
Due to the live nature of plants, we do not accept returns for any reason.
You may request a replacement or refund under the following circumstances:
The plant(s) are damaged in transit and arrive in a faulty or damaged condition.
If the above circumstances apply to you, then please email us referencing your order. We will need you to provide us photographs of the plant(s) and packaging as it arrived, in its original condition. We will need you to retain the box(es) to return plants, if this is required.
If your request for a replacement or refund is approved, you may request a replacement.
We will strive to provide you with a replacement plant which is of the same variety, type and growth stage. However this is not always possible, and so under some circumstances we will offer you a replacement which differs from your original order but is of similar or equal value. Alternatively, you may choose to wait until a plant close to your original order is available.
If your request for a replacement or refund is approved, you may request a refund.
You can receive your refund as store credit, which can be spent on any product on our online store.
You can also receive your refund as a direct deposit to the credit/debit card you made your purchase with.
Please allow up to 5-10 business days for your refund to come through.
Data usage and retention
By using this website and/or making a purchase, you agree to our use and retention of relevant personal information. We do not share in any way (or sell, or trade) any customer information with anyone.
