A slow growing shrub-like tree that has brightly coloured cherries. A native to Australia, this plant is frost tender. The fruit has been described as one of the best tasting of the Australian native fruits with a grape like flavour. Can be grown in a pot. Needs good drainage.

 

These are two year old trees, and will be ready to fruit at about 3 years, under the right conditions.

The cherry is about 2-3cm; tastes delicious with juicy orange-red flesh.

 

Position

Will do best in a sunny and warm location that is sheltered from the wind when young. Needs shelter from frost.
