Originally from Samaoa, Misi Luki is the most widely grown banana variety in Aotearoa. The ‘lady finger’ type plants are hardly and well-suited to Aotearoa's growing conditions with a number of Misi Luki planations across Northland and the Bay of Plenty. The plant is relatively tall (up to 3.0 - 4.0 metres tall) when grown in warm or northern parts of Aotearoa.

The very sweet, creamy-textured fruit is one of the best tasting bananas. Bunches can have 200 fuit in good conditions.

Plant in a sheltered, sunny position. Bananas require regular watering during hot spells.

As with all musa/bananas, the nutritional requirements are high and plants will benefit from an effective fertiliser programme. All banana plants require regular watering during hot spells.

Shipping: We will ship bananas as trimmed stems, with reduced leaves and trimmed roots.  The overall plant height will be reduced to the height necessary to go into the boxes. The roots will be well wrapped in moist paper.    The banana stem will need planting as soon as possible and lots of water.
