The ice cream bean tree. This is a large fast growing tree with spreading branches, and attractive flowers. A nitrogen fixing tree, and a good choice to interplant with other subtropicals. Can be used for chop and drop mulching. It produces large velvety pods which contain a sweet pulp that looks like candy floss and tastes like vanilla icecream


Self fertile


Grows to 10m+



Fruit (bean pods) can be expected from 3-4 years.




Will do best in a sunny and warm location that is sheltered from the wind when young. Can tolerate light frosts when mature.



Protect from frost when young.


All plants are in a 3.5l recycleable plastic pot, unless shown otherwise.
